Beef for Subs

As it was mention before, it was a regular day at Orchard Park. The kids were mingling in the hallways talking, walking too slow and causing mass congestion making it almost impossible for people to pass through. I was squeezing my way through people and their conversations trying to get to my car as soon as possible to head out for lunch.
My stomach rumbled and I started to push people out of my way with all my force in desperation to get to subway before a line-up started. I got through the English hallway, and was almost out the doors to the parking lot when Erica stopped me.
"Where do you think you're going?" she said. I haven't spoken to her since she got sick and puked in my car not even willing to clean it up. It was probably the worse thing I have ever experienced because right after she puked Luly almost upchucked her lunch as well. All Erica did was laugh and walk out of my car when I parked it at O.P having me to clean it up with Luly’s help.
"I ... Uh... I was heading out to lunch..." I said in small voice. My eyes darted to the door and back at Erica.
“Subway I assume, without me?” She let out a short laugh, but her face was still as stone. Erica has always been an intimidating girl to me. Sure we were friends, but she always put me down to much, trying to show off at any possibly opportunity.
I stood there silently while she eyed me wearily,
“Well… Are you going to say anything?” She crossed her arms as she waited for an answer.
“You know what Erica…” My voice faltered but I continued to speak, “I am going to subway.”
Her eyes widened and she dropped her arms to her sides. My voice became stronger as I straightened out my shoulders, staring her straight in the eye,
“You’ve been obnoxious to me and my feelings this whole time and I don’t appreciate it at all. I’ve driven you’re around like a nice friend and instead you puke in my car and don’t even help to clean it up. It’s really rude of you to do that to a friend, and it hurt my feelings because you just don’t seem to care.” I breathed heavily, grabbing my keys from my jacket pocket. Her jaw hung open as she watched me walk past her.
“I’m sorry…” Erica squeaked. I turned my head slightly to see her face. Her head was down as she looked at her feet, “That was rude of me as a friend, and you don’t deserve that.”
I held the door open and watched her stand there unsure of what to do next. An apology from Erica is a rare thing to hear from her.
“Common,” I said. Holding the door open for her we walked out to my car talking over our problems. In the end it was the best lunch I’ve ever had, especially since no one puked in my car again.

The end.

You would never guess what happened when...
I lost my foot. Sounds crazy, I know, but it's a true story. It all happened one beautiful summer morning, I woke up to my ringing alarm in my Florida beach house. I got up and stretched my stiff limbs looking around my room. I slowly started getting ready for another day of field work for my scientific research. I went to my dresser to tie up my hair and came across the black and white photograph of my mother in my drawer. She was a wonderful woman who loved to go out and do her lab research. She used to go out into the dank, muggy swamps collecting specimens for her research. She is a wonderful woman... well, was a wonderful woman sometimes I forget that she's gone. It all happened on one unlucky day when she was behind in her work and too rushed to be paying attention. She stood up too fast on her little boat and it rocked making her stumble off the edge. She fell right into the water and became an alligator’s lunch. I snapped out of my thoughts about her and I went back to getting ready. I grabbed my Ipod and was out the door on my way to the swamp. I got into my boat that was docked along the shore line and was on my way, passing safety signs warning about alligator infested waters. As soon as i got far enough into the swamp I stopped the boat and started getting my equipment out and ready. I grabbed a cylinder out and started to calculate the ph in the water samples i was collecting. Suddenly the boat shook aggressively. My heart quickened, I looked around the water to see what it was. There was a dark shadow in the water coming up to my boat again. Bam, the creature collided with the boat and almost sent me flying off that time. I peered over to my left side and saw the back of a blue spine alligator. My mind started to go wild, this alligator is one of the most dangerous of it's kind. I tried to gain my balance fearing for my life. The alligator eyed me and came to the boat again trying to knock me out. I held my self until he hit the boat from underneath, knocking me out into the water. I came up to the surface looking around. All of a sudden I felt pain shooting up my legs. The alligator had no care that I was wearing shoes, he just wanted to eat me whole. I kicked with all my might and somehow managed to get away and climb back into the boat. Blood streamed down my leg onto the deck of the boat and there was nothing in place of where my foot should have been. He ate my food as if it was a double BigMac from Mcdonalds. I managed to get out of the swamp and to a hospital. Unlike my mother I survived the attack.. And I swear to you, that is exactly how it all went down.

Slipper's Stank.

Dear Mike Rowe,
I am a size 10 and a half, blue slipper and I am a BIG fan of your show. Since you show the world dirty jobs my matching slipper and I had a suggestion for a new “Drity Jobs” episode. Not many people know what the world for slipper is really like, it's a surprisingly a tough place. Our purpose is simple: we are to be worn around the house as casual and comfortable foot wear. Sounds easy, but in reality this is the world’s dirtiest jobs hands down! No one knows the pain that us slippers endure daily, most of us aren't blessed to have beautiful feet wear us. The average slipper has to deal with people who have many foot problems such as the smell, calluses, corns, bunions and for the very unlucky of slippers, athlete’s foot. I hate my job sometimes, I feel underappreciated since my work conditions aren't the finest around (i.e. being worn by dirty feet). Profiling a slipper for a dirty jobs episode will not only be good for ratings, but people will see what it's like for us slippers. Once they see the episode they might actually start to appreciate us.
Please consider this idea for the sake of all slippers.

Thank you,
Lefty the Blue Slipper.

Five Book's I'd eat.

Five books I would eat... Though many would think of this figuratively I'll talk about this literally.

Stephenie Meyer's
Twilight/New Moon/ Eclipse/ Breaking Dawn- Not just the first one, but the whole series can come out of my behind. These books aren't really worth the time and effort that everyone's investing into them (ask Powles, his dislike for it was the only thing I remember from EST 4U1). Speaking of investing, the money that goes into buying these books is just a little bit ridiculous... Yeah, a good 10-20$ x4= 40-80$. Why would I pay for such a thing? It’s just too much money to spend in this economy. I say save your money and let me just eat these books up out of existence instead.

The Dictionary- Why the Dictionary? Well not for the reason of it being so informative, but for the reason of it's grammatical corrections. For some reason my spelling is just not up to par with this book. I have a decent vocabulary I'd say, and it's not like I CAN'T spell, but sometimes I just can't help but misspell things... If I ate this book the proper spelling would just dissolve in my stomach and I would never have to worry about a spelling mistake again.

Cook Books/Instructions- Doesn't matter if it's Italian, Asian, Indian or heck, even the directions on a Campbell's soup can. Cooking just isn't my strong suit and the directions that any of these books give don't help me out either. I end up usually making the worse meal of my life when I follow these directions. Cooking blindfolded would probably turn out better then what I've accomplished through reading these books.

Kurt Vonnegut's
Slaughterhouse Five- People consider this book and many other Kurt Vonnegut books classics and apparently in EST 4U1 his writing is unique and one that stimulates your mind and keeps you guessing. Instead this book gives me a headache and possible indigestion. But I'd still go through eating it and taking Pepto-Bismol afterward just so I know this book will be going down in the toilet … or so it goes.

Yann Martel’s
Life of Pi- This book was assigned for us to read in grade 11 English class. Honestly, every time I pulled it out to read, I started to get drowsy and close my eyes (the only thing that kept me from falling asleep was the sticky heat of the English classrooms due to the lack of air conditioning we have going on here at o.p). This book should just be eaten out of existence because… well… I just find it so boring. Really the tiger should of just eaten Patel so this book wouldn’t have came into existence, but since the tiger was too friendly I now have to eat this book to get rid of it. Woe is me.

About Me

My name is Kristina Jovanic, but a lot of people call me Kiki instead.
I'm 17 years old and am currently in Orchard Park (obviously). My hope is to go to University at U of T or Mac for History (hopefully recent history within the last century).

I have many hobbies and I like to think of myself as a well rounded person and at least a cultured due to experiences in my life. "Experiences?" you might say, well unlike other 17 year olds, I've travelled to many contries and experienced the way of life of people of other ethnic backgrounds. I got a sense of what they believed and why their country is beautiful and special.

Other then travelling I like to create pieces of art for my own enjoyment, go out with friends, spend time with family and all the typical other things you might hear.
